He was predeceased by: his parents, John Powell and Ada Williams Barge of Cordele, Georgia.; his significant other William H. Burger; and his nephew John Powell "J. P.". He is survived by: his siblings, Anne Barge Clegg (Terry) of Atlanta and John Powell Barge (Susan) of Cordele; and his aunt Jean Williams of Atlanta.
