He was predeceased by: his grandson Tylor Massey; his brother James Blackwell; and his niece Jill Tolbert. He is survived by: his wife Janice Blackwell; his daughters, Shelia (Brian Groves), Pendergrass, Sirena (Clint George) and Dahlonega; his siblings-in-law, Barbara, Randy Zidler, Savannah, Patsy, Lewis Ford and Homer; his grandchildren, Tiffany Savage, Jacie George and Keli George; and his sibling's children, Crystal Stephens and Victor Ledford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests, because of Dennis' love for science, that contributions be made to the Lumpkin County High School Science Department, 2001 Indian Dr., Dahlonega, GA 30533.
