He was predeceased by: his son Michael Boatfield; and his siblings, Marginia Grizzle, Fannie Dye, Louie Boatfield and David Boatfield.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Boatfield; his daughter Sherry; his children-in-law, Lewis Smith and Sherry Boatfield; his son Robert Boatfield; his grandchildren, Kimberly Sutton, Alisha and Mitchell Garrett; and his great grandchildren, Paigelynn Morris of Dahlonega, Allen Morris of Dahlonega, Lilly Garrett of Dahlonega and Maddie Garrett of Dahlonega. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
