He was predeceased by: his parents, George Self of Washington and Lillie May Tow Self; his son Christopher George Self; his siblings, Alvin (Faye Self), Charlie (Sue Self) and Georgia Mae; and his brother-in-law Clyde Spradley.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Cook, Julia (Riley Ray), Linda (Ronnie Howell), Timothy and Jerry Dillard Self; his daughter-in-law Melissa Self; and his siblings, Ted Self, Dorothy Parison and Lena Ash. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
