He was predeceased by: his parents, William Robert and Annie Mae Armstrong; and his brothers, Eugene Armstrong, Ralph Armstrong, Billy Armstrong, Clifford Armstrong and Hoyt Armstrong.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Armstrong and Tonya of Dahlonega; his son-in-law Tim Welch of Dahlonega; and his sisters, Martha Davis of Gainesville and Faye Gillespie of Gainesville. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his best friend "Speckles" his dog.
