He is survived by: his wife Murrell Bearden; his children, Nell (Terrell Holtzclaw), Pat Brackett, Charlotte (Melvin Bryant), Nancy (Russ Cochran) and Ray; and his children-in-law, Nell Bearden and Jack Knight. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
