He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Edith Ray Hampel; his children, Bill Hampel of Carnesville, Paul Hampel (Tammy), Alan Hampel (Lisa) of Dahlonega, GA, Michelle Hampel (James Tolbert) of Dahlonega, GA, Eric Hampel of Dahlonega, GA and Troy Hampel (Karen) of Gillsville, GA; his stepson John C.; and his grandchildren, Alan Russell, Gabriel Russell, Rachelle Cross (Nathan), Randy Hampel (Nicole), Jonathan Hampel, Megan Caylor (Corey), Cody Hampel (Traci), Tyler Hampel and Jeffery Levi Kent. He was also cherished by numerous great grandchildren and other relatives.
