She was predeceased by : her parents, Raymond Rakestraw and Kate Kincaid Rakestraw; her husband Thomas Homer Aiken, Sr.; her son Thomas Homer Aiken, Jr. (Tommy); and her siblings, Donald Rakestraw, Wilbur Rakestraw, Bernarr Rakestraw, Mary Kate Shipp and Harlow Otwell.

She is survived by : her daughters, Lisa Butler (David) and Laura Carruth (Bill); her granddaughters, Jodie Henson (Ashley), Kristen Thompson (Payne), Kate Dalton (Stuart) and Karoline Carruth; her great grandchildren, Asher Henson, Breck Henson, Will Thompson and Thomas Dalton; her sister Linda Strickland (Russell); and her sister-in-law Stephanie Rakestraw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty Aiken may be made to Dallas First United Methodist Church, 141 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia 30132 or to the American Cancer Society.
