He is survived by: his wife Earlene Dobbs Carey; his children, Leigh Anne Carey and Michael Bond Carey (Mandy); his grandchildren, Riley Bond Carey and Haley Briannon Carey; and his siblings, Larion Carey (Doris), Marie Young and Linda Sexton (Bant).
