He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charlie Paul Tyson and Effie Mae Bridges; his wife Joan Sumner; his former wife Pat Michael; his son Paul Tyson; his daughter-in-law Maureen McLoughlin; his grandson Chris Tyson; his daughter Pam Tyson (Harald Pietz); his stepdaughter Lorri Cabe (Jeffery Cabe); and his stepgrandchildren, Cassidy and Carley Cabe.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the ASPCA or the American Heart Association.
