He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugh Rutledge and Berthaleen Austin Rutledge; his wife Rebecca Whitley Rutledge; his children, Vickie Ann Gates, Kristy Renee, Covington and Eric James Rutledge; his stepson Keith Bryant; and his siblings, Carl Cox, Bruce Cox, Weymon Cox and Nell Casper.
