With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Carpenter Sr. (Deepstep, Georgia), born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on September 23, 2019 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Gaines Carpenter and Alice Chakley Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Andrews Carpenter; his son John D. "J. D."; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hodges (Brian), Johnathan Mason (Jordan), Morgan Lanier, Christian Lanier, Katelyn Jezewski (James) and Alan Peeler; and his great grandchild Charley Hodges.
