He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Rev. Luther Hastey and Martha Ann Hastey of Donalsonville, GA.; his children, Mary Lee Goodwyn (Will), Laura Ann Benefield (Brandon) and Chase Hastey; his brother Joel Albert Hastey (Cecilia); his aunts, Mary Goodwin and Helen Doster; and his grandchildren, William Bibb Goodwyn V, Greeley James Goodwyn, Lucy Claire Benefield and Hanin Camille Benefield. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Hospital Foundation.
