He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jones and Rushie Lee Thompson Jones; his wife Ethel Mae Merrier Jones; his daughter Connie E. Smith; and his brother Claude Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Loretta Courdle of Douglas, GA, Levi Michael Jones (Donna) of Hilliard, FL, Daniel J. Jones (Leigh) of Warner Robins, GA and Lamar Smith of Douglas, GA; and his grandchildren, George F. Bennett Jr. (Joeline), Nathaniel Bennett (Crystal), Daniel Bennett, Andrew S. Bennett (Keisla), Justin Michael Jones (Terri Lynn), Kayla Vaughn (Zachery), Jessica Leigh Jones, Tanice Griffin (Josh) and Coby Smith. He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
