He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie McKinnon and Fanny McKinnon; his former wife Kathleen Tanner McKinnon; and his siblings, Aubrey McKinnon, Sarge McKinnon and Ivaleen Mayne.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Janell "Nell" Minix McKinnon of Douglas, GA; his daughter Rose Marie Hoit (Robert); and his grandson Bobby Hoit.
