He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Eugene Courson and Carrie Colleen Martin Courson; and his son Michael. He is survived by: his siblings, Sandra Sharpe of Douglas and Dwight; and his sister-in-law Janice Courson of Baxley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
