He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clayton Wright and Ola Isle Nipper Wright; his granddaughter Brianna Gilliard; and his brother Jake Wright. He is survived by: his wife LaRue H. Wright of Douglas, GA; his children, Jonna Pearce (Richard) of Douglas, GA, Caroline McGovern (Kevin) of Willacoochee, GA, Chip Wright (Becky) of West Green, GA and Rodney Corbitt (Kathy) of Talbott, TN; his grandchildren, Kam Corbitt, Kalin Corbitt, Corey Wright Cody Dale (Gabe), Keegan McGovern, Kelcey McGovern, Ellasyn Pearce, Liam Pearce and Willa Pearce; his great grandchildren, Kammie Corbitt and Sophie Dale; and his brother Gerald "Pud" Wright (Shirley) of Douglas, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
