She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Avon Mercer and Rachel Morgan Mercer; her former husband James Melvin Griffis; her husband Charles J. Hutto; her siblings, Christine "Rose" Rawles, Pauline "Sissie" Avery and Carlie Ben Mercer; and her granddaughter April Michele Griffis.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Carelock (Nolan) of Douglas, GA, Marty Griffis (Shelia) of Douglas, GA and Keith Griffis of Douglas, GA; her sister Carlene M. Walker of Brookfield; her grandchildren, Kristi Batten (Ben) of Ambrose, GA, Amanda Murphy (Kevin) of Douglas, GA, Cari Jo Crosby (Clint) of Douglas, GA and Nolan Ryan Carelock of Douglas, GA; and her great grandchildren, Madison Batten, Maylee Batten, Ava Murphy, Chloe Crosby, Caroline Crosby and Cammie Jaymes Crosby.
