It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Martha Meeks of Douglas, Georgia, born in Rockmart, Georgia, who passed away on December 29, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Newton Johnson and Jenny Irene Reid Johnson; her husband Charles Clifford Meeks; and her grandson Mathew Gibbs. She is survived by: her daughters, Jenny L. Thompson (Carroll) of Douglas, GA and Carol M. Bratcher (Ollie) of Douglas, GA; her stepson Eddie Meeks (Harriett) of Thomaston, GA; her grandchildren, Derrick Gibbs (Tabitha), Sarah Spell (John), Gabe Bratcher (Robbyn), Charlie Bratcher (Jamie), Candace Williamson (James), Tracy Vercillo (Bernard) and Jonathan Meeks (Julie); her great grandchildren, Kadee Fussell, Matalyn Fussell, Shelby Bratcher, Max Bratcher, Aria Bratcher, Olivia Bratcher, Charlotte Bratcher, Chloe Bratcher, Audrey Williamson, Jack Williamson, Ben Berry, Jeffery Berry and Arissa Gibbs; and her brother Herbert Johnson (Elizabeth) of Cedartown.
