It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Neil Thompson (Douglas, Georgia), born in Mount Vernon, Georgia, who passed away on January 31, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Parker Thompson and Rachael Anderson Thompson; and his siblings, Emmett Thompson and Vera Thompson Sapp. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jowers Thompson of Douglas, GA; his children, Steven Bryant Thompson (Becky) of Ambrose, GA, David Ricketson (Debra) of Ambrose, GA and Beth Wright (Kevin) of Ambrose, GA; his sister Jeanette Kirkland of Douglas, GA; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Wright of Ambrose, GA, Jordan Wright of Ambrose, GA, Reagan Walsh of Douglas, GA, Bo Steptoe of Douglas, GA and Ashley Ricketson of Douglas, GA. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
