He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mitchell (Bill) and Bessie Carver Mitchell of Douglas, Georgia.; and his sister Helen Durden (Clark). He is survived by: his daughter Alice Rebecca Mitchell Cribbs (Jack); his grandson Lane Burkhalter (Maranda McElhaney); his great grandchildren, Graden McElhaney and Laney McElhaney; his nephews, Russell Durden (Olivia), Al Durden and Gisele Houston (Alan); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Rusty Durden, Case, Clark, Brittany Wooten and Debbie Lankford.
