It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rusty Kirkland of Douglas, Georgia, born in Americus, Georgia, who passed away on January 29, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Daniel Kirkland Sr. and Prue Ann Reynolds Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Kirkland of Douglas, GA; his children, Larissa Davis (Carl) of Broxton, GA and Daniel Kirkland III (Sarah) of Athens, GA; his grandchildren, Kaleb Davis, Reese Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Abby Davis, Kate Kirkland and Emery Kirkland; his sister Cheryl Mathews (Vondal) of Douglas, GA; his sibling's children, Carrie Redish and Keith Mathews; and his sister-in-law Paula Douglas of Broxton, GA.
Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.
