He was predeceased by : his parents, Bennie Felix Thigpen and Jeanette Entrekin Wilkes; his former life partner Nancy Elizabeth Hunt Thigpen; and his brothers, Joseph Thigpen, Ronnie Thigpen and Ricky Thigpen.
He is survived by : his wife Shirley W. Smith of Douglasville, Georgia; his daughter Elaine; his son-in-law Kenneth Carroll of Dallas, Georgia; his sons, Danny (Sonya Thigpen) and Scott Thigpen of Douglasville, Georgia; his sister Novie; his brother-in-law Randy Seay of Griffin, Georgia; his grandchildren, Andy (Abbey Thigpen), Brett (Kacie Carroll), Zachary Thigpen, Jacob (Jordan Thigpen) and Gage Thigpen; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Aubree, Allie, Addison, Eisley and Avery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
