He was predeceased by: his mother Betty West Mitchell; and his siblings, Walter Mitchell and Nancy Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Brenda West; his stepchildren, Rhonda Smith and Jeff Smith; his grandchildren, Timothy Crowder (Isis), Cory Gilkey and Michael Smith; and his brother Jesse Mitchell.
