She was predeceased by: her parents, Eldrum Hendrix and Vertie Mae Woods; her husband Frank Dowdy, Jr.; her son Dennis Dale Dowdy; her siblings, L. E. Hendrix, Ronnie Hendrix and Gennell Hendrix Cannady; her son-in-law Charles Mills; and her grandson Chuck Mills.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathryn Mills, June Willoughby, Janice Dowdy and Elaine; her son-in-law Steve Mills; her son Glen; her daughter-in-law Diane Dowdy; her daughter Sonya; her son-in-law Richard Norris; her sister Donna Sue Denmark; and her sister-in-law Joann Hendrix. She is also survived by nine grandsons and two granddaughters, fifteen great grandsons and fifteen great granddaughters.
