With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eva Jean Riley of Douglasville, Georgia, born in Chamblee, Georgia, who passed away on December 9, 2020 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilburn Burdette and Ruth Phillips Burdette; her husband Henry Milton Riley; her brothers, Alan Burdett and Stephen Burdette; and her sister-in-law Linda Burdett.

She is survived by: her children, Diane Austin and Scot Riley (Jeanette); her grandchildren, Cory Austin, Sr. (Pam), Jason Austin (Camille), Amy Scofield (Jonathan) and Hilarie Riley; her great grandchildren, Cory Austin, Jr. (Samantha), Christian Austin, Peyton Austin, Tyler Dopler (Tara), Gabriel Scofield, Luca Scofield, Kasey Tanner, Kelly Tanner and Kayla Tanner; her great great grandchildren, Ethan Dopler, Jacklynn Dopler and Austin Dopler; her brothers, Phillip Burdette and Roy Burdett; and her sisters-in-law, Billie Ann Burdett and Marilyn Diane Burdette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“My family is so blessed to have known Jean. She was a.counselor for our church’s weekend youth retreats . Jean kept us laughing and we knew she really cared about us . Jean, Henry and all their family were so kind and supportive of all my family during my dad’s ministry at Trinity UMC. Jean is a beautiful Christian lady .”
