He is survived by: his wife Diane Richmond; his children, Jaquita, Steve and Aqila; his grandchildren, Julia, Jani, Daniel and Xavier; his great grandchildren, Mason and Ava; and his sister Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney foundation in his memory.
