He was predeceased by: his father William Cary Pitts; his wife Margaret "Polly" Algood Pitts (Georgia); his mother Lillian Chastain Pitts; his siblings, Alvin, Melvin Pitts and Catherine Pitts Callaway; his children, Dennis Pitts and Debbie Pitts Hansford; his son-in-law Ted Hansford; and his great grandchild Parker Cash.
He is survived by: his children, Mike, Michelle Pitts, Dr. Robert, Patti Pitts and Lisa Pitts Teague; his sisters, Doris Graham Callaway and Jeannie Pitts Fincher; and his sister-in-law Betty Pitts. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elberton Christian Church, 1128 Calhoun Falls Hwy., Elberton, Georgia 30635.
