It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Gladwin Merritt Jr. of Elberton, Georgia, born in Nashville, Georgia, who passed away on November 4, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gladwin Merritt, Sr. and Ruby Lorraine McMillan Merritt; and his sister Dianne Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Faye Price Merritt; his daughters, Leslie (Bob Law), Lori (Thom VanTuinen) and Lisa (Bob Wright); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Paul Powers of Vernon, CT, Benjamin Law, Navy, Austin Wright of Stuart, FL and Charlie Wright of Stuart, FL; his great grandchildren, Amelia, Abby and Gavin Powers; and his siblings, Jack (Rosemarie Merritt), Jimmy (Judy Merritt), Larry Merritt of Middleburg, FL and Bonnie (Richard Carney). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the coronavirus, the service will be private for the family.
