He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Robert Payton and Violet Moon Payton; and his brothers, David Payton and Roger Dale Payton. He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Howell of Elberton, GA and Christie (Jeffrey Yeargin); his siblings, Wanda Bell of Carlton, GA and Wayne Payton of Greenwood, SC; and his grandchildren, Hunter Howell, Will Howell, Payton Howell, Alexis Yeargin and Addyson Yeargin.
