He was predeceased by: his parent George N. Sexton; his daughter Susan Elizabeth Sexton; and his sisters, Christina Hope S. Bellows of Weidman, Katherine "Kay" S. McGarry of Eaton Rapids and Barbara Ann S. Ross of Louisville.
He is survived by: his parent Lula Mae Branner Sexton; his wife Susan Rousey Sexton of Elberton; his son John N. Sexton, Jr. of Burnt Ranch; his grandsons, Ezra, Eli Sexton of Oak Run and Brandon Russo of Burnt Ranch; and his sister Marie S. Howe (Bill) of Bath. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
