He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Nathaniel and Jewell Eunice Sumner; his wife Juanita Bearden Sumner; his brothers, Charles Sumner and Herbert Sumner; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Hyde and Grace Davis Sumner.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn; his son-in-law Todd Coleman of Talking Rock, GA; his son Franklin "Keith"; his daughter-in-law Krystal Sumner of Cherry Log, GA; his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Coleman Davis, Matthew Davis and Ansley Caroline Sumner; his great grandchild Emilia Kate Davis; his sisters, Buren Sumner Hyde and Dorothy S. (Mack Logan); and his sister-in-law Inez T. Sumner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mountain Town Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Sumner at 510 Mountaintown Rd Ellijay, GA 30540.
