She was predeceased by: her parents, James Littleberry Johnson and Elise Bradford Johnson; her son Charles Cooper Penland; her husband S. O. Penland; her brother Jimmy Johnson; and her great grandchild Owen Christopher Manley.
She is survived by: her former husband Samuel Oscar Penland, Jr.; her children, Samuel Oscar Penland III, Susan Penland Myers and Elisa Penland Templeton; her sister Betty Johnson; her children, Marcie Penland, G. T. Myers and Alan Templeton; her grandchildren, Trent, Kate Myers, Nicole, Jeremiah Bond, Elizabeth, Chris Manley, Tiffany, Weaver, Samuel Penland, Sarah Templeton, Mike Schmitt, Parker and Emily Templeton; and her great grandchildren, Elise, Audrey Myers, Cohutta Bond, Hannah, Ruby, Cooper, Elliot Manley and Presley Boyle.
In lieu of flowers, Yvonne's family respectfully asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Weekday Education Center or the Gideon Foundation.
