He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fulton Hagen, Sr. and Emma Lou Hall Hagen; his son Robert Todd Hagen; and his sister Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Toni Hagen; his daughter Joylynn Pursley (Stewart) of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Kristin Swartz, Megan Dickman, Christian Holm and Brittany McKee; his great grandchildren, Addison McKee, Bailey Boatright and Hamilton McKee; and his siblings, Nadine Colvin (Roy) of Waycross, Vernon Donohue Hagen (Edith) of Douglasville and Dr. Arthur Ronnie Hagen (Charlotte) of St. Simons Island. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
