He is survived by : his spouse Johnnie Holmes Maher; his adoptive son Robert Maher; his stepchildren, Wanda Golosky Barnard (Ben), Douglas Chilton (Simona) and Patricia Johnson; his grandchildren, Julia Golosky, Walter Golosky, James Chilton, Samuel Chilton, Michael Johnson, Elizabeth Phung and Caroline Douglas; and his niece Barbara Maher.
