He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Tammy; his granddaughter Mandy; his children, Marty and Mandy; his daughter-in-law Amy Smith John; his grandchildren, Maggie and Joel; his siblings, Cathy John Biggerstaff (Larry), Peggy John Helmly (William) and Jimmy John (Karen); his mother-in-law Ellen Roland; and his siblings-in-law, Eric Kent (Terry) and Evelyn Kent (Lou). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
