She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Roosevelt and Katie Bell Johnson; and her siblings, Rosie Simpson, Gus, Frank, Jessie and Gotrelle Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband Sammie Roper, Sr.; her sons, Joe Carter, Jr., Sammie Roper, Jr. and Billy Roper (Tamara); her grandchildren, Roper, Jr., Chris Roper and Trey Roper; and her siblings, Ella Lightning, Louise King, Maggie McMickens, Zella McMickens, Barbara Richards (John) and Issac Johnson (Georgia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
