He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia "Ann" Raines; his parents, Lee Raines and Grace Raines; and his siblings, Ina Lee Hickman, Bessie Raines, Flora Blackwell, Floyd Raines, Frank Raines, Harry "Spud" Raines, Roy Raines and Walter Raines, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Byrd (Johnny, Sr.), Ronnie Raines, Sr. (Faye) and James Raines (Tanya). He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
