He is survived by : his wife Faye Barry (Smallwood) of Perry, GA; his children, Dr. Richard Eugene Barry, Jr. (Josiah Evans) of Philadelphia, PA and Allison Garrett (Todd) of Perry, GA; his grandchildren, Abigail Julian, Amber Howell (Cody), Trevor Garrett and Ava Garrett; his sisters, Faye Ammons of Byron, GA and Janet Loretta Willis of Warner Robins, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Smallwood of Perry, GA, Betty Stubbs of Perry, GA and Rita Barry of Warner Robins, GA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel (2932 US Hwy 41, Fort Valley, GA 31030). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
