He was predeceased by: his parents, James Godfrey and Bessie Godfrey; his siblings, Shirley Turner and James Godfrey, Jr.; his father-in-law Jake Parker; and his close friend Ouida Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Gola Godfrey; his children, Muffin Gilmer (Tim) and Jake Godfrey (LaRae); his great grandchildren, Maverick and Stetson Gilmer; his brothers, Jerry Godfrey (Connie) and Danny Godfrey (Debbie); his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Godfrey, Kitten Smithers (Dale), Phil Parker (Liz) and Collis Parker; his mother-in-law Claudine Parker; and his friend Larry Brownlow. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
