He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lee Wade, Sr. and Louise Bell; and his siblings, Willie Wade, Jr., Soloman Wade, Billy Wade, Jeff Mitchell Wade, Nancy Stewart and Doris Story.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Nichelson, Michelle Wade, Angel Wade and James Matthew Wade Jr.; and his sisters, Elizabeth Diane Wade, Blanche Pritchard, Annette Martin and Esther Timmerman. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
