She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Sands, Sr. and Lenora "Doll" Parker Sands; her former life partner Oscar Kirkland, Jr.; and her siblings, Don Sands, Shelby Jean Anderson, Doris Chapman and Becky Phillips.

She is survived by : her husband Ernest Kight of Glennville, Georgia; her children, Cindy Mann (Johnny) of Greenville, Patsy Ray (Danny) of Glennville and Lorre Ellis (Barry) of Macon, Georgia; her stepchildren, Michael Kight (Debbie) of Michigan, Cathy Kight of Metter and June Kight of Virginia; and her siblings, Harry Sands Jr. (Marsha) of Glennville and Georgia Dale McGowan of Waynesboro. She is also survived by Five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
