He is survived by: his wife Frankie Melton of Gray; his children, Mark Melton (Jennifer) of Aiken, Philip Melton (Lori) of Savannah, Georgia and Laura Melton Burton (Jay) of Abita Springs, Louisiana; and his siblings, Carolyn McElheney of Macon and James Melton (Julia) of Gray. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohoopee Baptist Church, P.O. Box 313, Tennille, GA 31089.
