He was predeceased by: his parent John Joel Edwards. He is survived by: his parent Allie Sue Bankston Edwards; his wife Anne Clements Edwards; his children, Allie Edwards Armistead (Butch) of Zebulon, Laurie Edwards Fisher (Jay) of Sewanee, TN and John Edwards, Jr. of Zebulon; his grandchildren, Walker Armistead (Sydney), Courtney Armistead Rasmussen (Jordan), Dana Armistead, Mia Armistead Goodman (Mitch), Jett Fisher (Caroline), Elliott Fisher, John Fisher, Henry Fisher, Ashley Edwards, John William Edwards III (Sarah) and Mary Grace Edwards; his great grandchildren, Blythe Armistead and Walker Armistead; and his brother Joe Edwards (Pat) of Barnesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
