She was predeceased by: her parents, William F. Claxton and Donie T. Yelvington; her husband Reverend Leland Kennedy; and her children, Leland Kennedy, Jr., Ronnie Kennedy, George Kennedy, Sr. and Cathy Renna.
She is survived by: her son Reverend James; and her daughters-in-law, Brenda Kennedy and Patricia Kennedy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
