She is survived by : her husband Embry Pitts; her children, Elizabeth (David Allen), Truitt (Amy Pitts) and Zachary Pitts; her grandchildren, Christina Stacy, Joshua Pitts, Nicole Pitts, Dustin Allen and Lindsey Allen; her great grandchild Elli Stacy; her siblings, Royal Edmonds (Susan), Phil Edmonds (Ann), Steven Edmonds of Richmond, Virginia, Vicky Miracky of Ocala and Ann Bicking of Richmond, Virginia; and her brother-in-law Bill Lail of Siler City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
