He was predeceased by : his parents, Henrietta Brewer Carlisle and Ernest Franklin Carlisle Jr.; his brother Ernest Franklin Carlisle III; and his nephew Ernest "Sonny" Franklin Carlisle IV. He is survived by : his wife Carole Conniff Carlisle; his sister Henrietta Carlisle Herrick; his sister-in-law Catherine Bramlett Carlisle; his daughters, Flynn Carlisle Livingston and Christine Carlisle Odom (John); his grandchildren, Carole Reid Livingston, Michael Cole Livingston, John "Jack" Calhoun Odom and Catherine Carlisle Odom; and his close friends, Banjo and Cuba.
