She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh W. Brinkley and Evelyn Shirley Newton; her husband David H. Phillips; and her sisters, Barbara Hope and Virginia Wilson.

She is survived by: her daughter Stacey Phillips Welch (James); and her brother Jim Brinkley (Alice). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
