She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Wilkerson and Mary Wilkerson; her siblings, Joe, Kathy, Mary Sue and Sandra; her stepson Melton Durell Tharpe, II; her son Buddy Imes; her mother-in-law Angie Imes; her pet Crimson; and her close friend Maggie Mae.

She is survived by : her husband Melton Durell "Bama" Tharpe, Sr.; her son Thor Imes; her stepson Darryl Tharpe (Amber); and her brother John Wilkerson. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
