He was predeceased by: his parents, David P. and Pauline H. Garland; his son Joel Garland; and his brother Clyde Garland. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Bates Garland; his children, Jay Garland (Maureen), Angela Munson (David), Tonya Nelms (Butch) and Julie Nichols (Carl); and his grandchildren, Sheldon Nelms (Ashleigh), Morgan Williams (Austin), Jase Nichols, Trey Nichols and Cassie Parks (Chris).
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Relevant Church, P. O. Box 690, Locust Grove, Georgia 30248 in memory of Scott.
